“Big Mini Putt Club is a new establishment going in at 70 Ionia”
Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. director of operations Melbin Eledge says the owners of Big Mini Putt Club are already building their golf course bar complex at 70 Ionia.
“It is an indoor golf course that will also have a bar attached to it. They hand build all of the holes, Some of the holes will have a very specific Grand Rapids feel to them so I fully expect there will be a Calder or Blue Bridge hole.”
Big Mini Putt Club is expanding to Grand Rapids from Chicago.
“They currently have 2 establishments in Chicago. Lot of good reviews on Google and Yelp.”
The Downtown Development Authority is giving Big Mini Putt Club a $49,00 grant to help with their rent. And chair Rick Winn says they are also supporting their application for a liquor license.
“You can’t have putt putt golf without liquor,. You can’t. that’s true.”
Owners hope to have Big Mini Putt Club open by fall.
“In time for ArtPrize.”
