The report did not allege sexually explicit communication or physical contact, but the board called the conduct “concerning and inappropriate”

The Board of Trustees announced the resignation of Calvin University president Wiebe Boer in a public statement. Boer has been president of the Christian-based school since 2022.

The university received a report alleging Boer engaged in unwelcome and inappropriate communication with a member of the campus community, who is not a student.

The report did not allege sexually explicit communication or physical contact, but the board called the conduct “concerning and inappropriate.”

Dr. Boer denied some of the allegations but did admit to sending communications that were inappropriate.

He offered his resignation which the Board accepted.

Vice President of Advancement Gregory Elzinga has been named as Interim President.
