Third Ward City Commissioner appointed in 2018.

Third Ward City Commissioner Nathanial Moody is officially stepping down Sunday, December 31st. Moody cited personal reasons for the decision.

The Grand Rapids native first served on the city commission in 2018 when he was unanimously selected to replace Commissioner David Allen who moved on to lead the Kent County Land Bank.

Moody won reelection in 2019.

In a news release, Moddy said, “I am proud to see many investments being made in the Third Ward, including the construction of a new MLK Jr. lodge and fire station.” Adding he will continue to be a community voice.

The process for filling the vacant Third Ward commissioner seat will be announced in early January.
