The local Ronald McDonald House Charities is inviting its supporters to a free, award-winning movie screening about the organization’s founder

Set in Philadelphia in 1969, the film “Audrey’s Children” tells the true story of Dr. Audrey Evans, a pioneering oncologist who started Ronald McDonald hospitality houses nationwide.

Salina Bishop is the President and CEO of the West Michigan chapter.

“It's more than just a movie. It really is a reminder of the impact one person can have on the world and Dr. Audrey Evans in particular. Her impact and how she saw the need for pediatric cancer treatment for children and that she recognized that there was a need for a place like Ronald McDonald house to provide that support for families. “

The film is a 2024 Tribeca Festival X award winner for Feature Film.

Bishop says the free movie is a way to thank the community.

The screening is Tuesday April 22 at 6:45pm at Celebration Cinema North.

Seats are limited and can be reserved at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of West Michigan website.
