Ronald McDonald House WM and Versiti Blood Center joining for blood drive

The organizations hope to support families with critically ill children and ensure a stable blood supply for local hospitals and healthcare facilities

The joint blood drive hosted by Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan and Versiti Blood Center will take place on Thursday, May 16th, from 7 am until 6:30 pm. It will be held at the blood center. This effort seeks to bolster blood supplies crucial for patients in need and officials say every drop collected is important.

“A blood donation from one individual can save up to 3 lives which that is mind blowing showing how important every single drop of blood is. And they use all the different parts of blood too, so your donation could be spread among many people saving many lives.”

That’s Megan Zars, Senior Marketing Manager at Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan. By joining forces, RMHC West Michigan and Versiti Blood Center of Michigan say they seek to amplify the impact of their respective missions: supporting families with critically ill children and ensuring a stable blood supply for local hospitals and healthcare facilities.

“We’ve been long time partners with Versiti, we’ve been looking for ways to partner together. Children being treated for all kinds of things, cancer, preemies, they all need blood. We came together, this is the perfect way to help these families.”

Megan says they’re hoping people will sign up online, but walk-ins are just as much appreciated. You can find out more information on their website at RMHCWM.org.
