Prism Controls, based in Kent County’s Vergennes Township, specializes in developing and manufacturing technology for agricultural operations, with an emphasis on egg and poultry farming.
With an increase in growth and demand, the company is investing more than $3.8 million in its operation, doubling the size of its current 15,000-square-foot facility near Lowell.
It’s also adding 28 new jobs with average wages ranging from just over $22 to over $36 per hour, which is at or above the regional median wage.
Prism Controls President Eric Hansen stated, “This expansion will nearly double our production capacity, create new opportunities for our workforce, and enable us to bring more of our innovative agricultural solutions to customers around the world, building on a legacy that began in 1980.”
Prism was founded by Stephen Herbruck, a member of the family behind Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch. It originally operated at the main Herbruck farm before relocating in 2017 due to bird flu concerns.
