The approved plan covers three-acres along the north side of Grand Haven’s waterfront walkway.
Led by Grand Rapids-based CopperRock Construction, the mixed-use project features restaurant, retail and office space plus public green space and a gas fire pit.
CopperRock’s senior development specialist Greg Taylor highlighted recent changes to the plans.
“Obviously we’re very excited about the new configuration of the multipurpose building to have interior and limited exterior farmer’s market utility which would double as covered parking in the non-market hours.”
Details such as lighting, landscaping, signage and relocating a nearby mini-golf course are still to be finalized. But planning commissioner Amy Kozanecki is satisfied with the overall plans.
“I think it’s a vast improvement over the plan two months ago. It’s a great balance of open space and development and I look forward to the tweaking portion to come.”
City Manager Ashley Latsch discussed the years of research and public input that went into the planning.
“We ultimately feel confident this is in-line with wat our public engagement initially saw.”
CopperRock plans to break ground in the spring, with construction projected to take up to 18 months.
