Ottawa and Allegan County businesses are receiving millions of dollars supporting economic development thanks to Lakeshore Advantage's long-term plan

Lakeshore Advantage’s five-year growth plan and fundraising campaign known as Powering Our Future: The Next Lakeshore Generation set out to raise $2.3 million in new revenue to fund business growth, talent development and entrepreneurship in Ottawa and Allegan Counties. The campaign wrapped this week having raised more than $2.4 million thanks to commitments from 38 regional businesses, organizations, and individuals.

Funds will be used to achieve specific overall goals by 2030, including the creation of 5,000 new primary jobs and just over 4,300 indirect jobs. $375 million will be invested into new business expansion and $10 million will be used as new capital investments for startup companies.

Campaign co-chair and MillerKnoll COO Jeff Stutz stated, “These investments will directly fuel the initiatives that our region’s employers and communities need to remain strong, resilient, and competitive for years to come.”
