Economic development nonprofit Lakeshore Advantage is coordinating the entrepreneurial programs. One of them is the Customer Funded Startup Accelerator. Director of SURGE Partnerships with Lakeshore Advantage Nora Vandenbrink explains.
“So, it’s really focusing on the traction made possible by securing customers and generating revenue.”
The second program is the Capital Readiness Accelerator.
“This accelerator is really going to focus on understanding what the capital needs of a startup are and then helping guide them towards the best route towards capital related to their business model and their trajectory for growth.”
Over the next two years, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation is disbursing $300,000 in grants supporting West Michigan entrepreneurs.
“Part of these programs will be in-person participation, so having a willingness to come to The Next here in Holland and participate in the programs, but they’ll largely be open to early-stage ventures within the West Michigan region.”
The Customer Funded Startup Accelerator is an eight-week program that begins September 10th. More information can be found here.
