“We saw $243.9 million in private investment in our region.”
Grace Maiullo is director of marketing and communications with Lakeshore Advantage, which announced this week that business expansion activity throughout 2024 in Ottawa and Allegan counties helped create over 550 jobs.
“That was across 16 business expansion projects that our organization supported.”
A key expansion includes Netherlands-based Profielnorm USA, which manufactures mezzanine flooring. The company is currently constructing its first U.S. manufacturing facility in a newly created industrial park in Plainwell. Profielnorm is investing over $13 million and creating 30 jobs.
“They had an office already in the Kalamazoo area and so they decided that they would grow their U.S. market and their North American market out of Allegan County.”
Lakeshore Advantage is also celebrating the opening of its $10.5 million Next Center in downtown Holland. The 20,000-square foot office building will serve not only as the group’s headquarters but as a home to more than 30 business startups.
“Our business incubator helps them navigate different opportunities, being part of a network that they can rely on different resources to really get their momentum and get going.”
