Holland-based economic development organization Lakeshore Advantage is launching a campaign increasing the region’s competitiveness in the global economy

“We talked to over 60 business leaders and we really built this with them.”

Powering Our Future: The Next Lakeshore Generation is a five-year growth plan and fundraising campaign to strengthen Ottawa and Allegan Counties’ economies through business growth, talent development, and entrepreneurship.

Lakeshore Advantage is aiming to add 5,000 new primary jobs and secure $375 million in new capital investments by 2030.

Grace Maiullo is Director of Marketing & Communications for Lakeshore Advantage.

“We’re hearing that, really, now is the time. We know that it’s an uncertain time, but now is the time to invest in our business community and ensure that we’re staying strong and working together.”

The campaign has already raised $1.8 million of its $2.3 million goal thanks to commitments from over 20 regional businesses and organizations, including Corewell Health, Haworth, and Fifth Third Bank.

“We really want the next generation to look back and say, ‘This is where it started and we want to invest and did what the previous generation did for us in investing in this community.’”
