The two will face off in the November 4th general election

During Tuesday’s primary election, Muskegon voters decided who would be vying for the position of city mayor.

According to unofficial results from the Muskegon County Clerk’s Office, current Mayor Ken Johnson and Bob Garretson are the nominees, beating out one other candidate.

Johnson came in first place with just over 2,000 votes, while Garretson placed second with just over 1,000 votes.

Before he was elected mayor in 2021, Johnson served eight years as a city commissioner.

Garretson has lived in Muskegon since 2019 and is a financial planner.

The two will face off in the November 4th general election.
