The West Michigan ice cream producer will invest more than $40 million and create more than 44 new jobs

Allegan County -based Hudsonville Ice Cream will renovate the existing dairy production room in Holland, and create a new novelty bar production line.

They'll also purchase machinery and equipment, and make improvements to plumbing, HVAC and electrical.

Hudsonville Ice Cream produces its own brand, and also makes ice cream for other regional, national, and global brands.

The announcement notes, by keeping the new production line cost-effective, Hudsonville can maintain a current contract with a global customer and keep jobs that would otherwise be idled in 2026.

Funding from the state includes a $700,000 grant, a 15-year tax exemption worth nearly $600,000 on its $26.5 million investment in Eligible Personal Property.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation notes it has helped the nearly 100-year-old company grow from 30 employees in 2016 to more than 250 currently.
