Jennifer Crumbley’s attorney argues that the prosecution violated discovery rules

Juries found the gunman’s parents, Jennifer and James Crumbley, guilty in separate trials of involuntary manslaughter...for not taking reasonable steps that could have stopped the shooting in 2021.

After the trials, it was revealed the prosecution had struck a deal with Oxford High employees for them to testify.

Jennifer Crumbley’s attorney argues keeping that agreement quiet violated discovery rules and is grounds for acquittal or a new trial.

Now the attorney writes in a court filing it’s been almost six months without a decision on the trial or a bond for the mother, and that’s preventing them from appealing the verdict further.

Judge Cheryl Matthews has said she was concerned about the agreement.

Prosecutors say the trial was fair and they never promised immunity in exchange for the Oxford High employees’ testimony.
