Just before 2:00 Monday morning, the owner of Comodo Motors in Caledonia saw multiple people through a live surveillance system stealing vehicles from his dealership and called police.
Kent County Sheriff’s deputies arrived to see five vehicles leaving the lot - a blue Dodge Challenger, a black Corvette, a black Dodge Ram — all confirmed stolen from Comodo — along with a black Dodge Challenger and a white Jeep, which were also presumed stolen.
The drivers headed northbound toward M-6, but deputies used stop sticks near the 8000 block of Broadmoor Ave, partially disabling the blue Challenger.
It stopped near M-6 and I-96, where the driver jumped out, getting into the white Jeep, and the pursuit continued at speeds more than 100 mph into Ionia County, where deputies lost sight of the Jeep and the Corvette.
However, with help from the Ionia County Sheriff's Office and Portland Police Department, a 19-year-old female from Detroit was arrested, and the black Dodge Ram was recovered.
The stolen Corvette was later found unoccupied in Livingston County.
Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
