With less than a week before the Nov. 5 General Election, Michigan’s Secretary of State is advising voters to make their travel arrangements for casting a ballot at the polls or an early voting site

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson shared a list of nonpartisan organizations and companies that are offering free of charge or discounted rides to the polls as well as early voting sites.

In a news release, Secretary Benson said, “I'm glad lawmakers worked to lift the ban on providing rides to voting locations," adding, “These services will be essential for many, especially older citizens and voters with disabilities, to ensure every eligible voter can make their voice heard in this election."

Multiple transportation agencies across the state are offering transportation to help voters get to the polls.

Ride-sharing company Lyft is offering a 50% off one ride to or from the polls on Election Day.
