Grand Rapids’ City Clerk Joel Hondorp’s early voting plan is to utilize early voting sites for this year’s general election.
Those early voting sites are:
Saints Peter and Paul School
GRPS University
Ottawa Hills High School
and Hall B of DeVos Place
The commission also approved Hondorp’s request for additional times and a location for distributing and receiving absentee ballots. Absentee voters will be able to obtain and turn in their ballot in Hall B of DeVos Place on Saturday, November 2nd, from 7 am to 3 pm, and on Monday, November 4th, from 8 am to 5 pm.
Michigan voters gained the right to vote early when they approved the proposal during 2022’s general election. The law requires voters have the opportunity to vote for a minimum of nine days prior to Election Day and for at least eight hours a day during that period, which begins two Saturdays ahead of Election Day and ends on the Sunday just prior to Election Day.
Exact dates and times for each early polling location will be determined within the next few weeks and the clerk’s office is planning to process and tabulate absentee ballots beginning Monday, October 21st.
