It’s still too soon for voters to walk into their local clerk’s office and pick up an absentee ballot.
The candidate lists haven’t been finalized yet. And the ballots themselves don’t have to be made available until next month.
But anyone interested in voting absentee can now fill out their request to receive a ballot and submit it online… by mail… or at their clerk’s office. No reason or excuse is required to vote absentee in Michigan.
State elections officials have been increasingly highlighting the option of voting ahead of election day since a pair of constitutional amendments in 20-18 and 20-22 expanded access to absentee and early voting.
