Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders spoke to a crowd of more than 9,000 in Michigan on Monday.

"Bernie! Bernie! Bernie!"

The crowd at Eastern Michigan University was electric as the U.S. Senator from Vermont took the stage.

Sanders spoke first about rebuilding infrastructure in Flint in the wake of the city’s water contamination crisis.

He says Flint may be the worst example of failing infrastructure in the US – but it’s not the only one.

"We can create 13 million decent-paying jobs rebuilding that infrastructure."

Sanders also said it’s the Senate’s constitutional duty to hold hearings on President Obama’s choice to succeed Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court.
