“It’s the ballot box where you can actually effect change.”
And even if it means electing a democrat life long republican Phil Tanis:
“On fiscal policy I’m about as conservative as you can get.”
Says he is voting for democrat Sean McCann instead of 8 term republican Bill Huizenga in the 4th congressional district. In a town hall during the primary, he said Huizinga puts Donald Trump and the republican party ahead of what’s best for the country.
“I see him falling in line with the other republicans in congress and basically voting as he is told to do.”
Tanis lost to Huizinga in the 4th congressional district republican primary. In a statement responding to his support for McCann, the Huizenga campaign accused him of attacking President Trump for years, opposing tax cuts and after losing the primary in a landslide, working to elect who they call Tax Man MaCann.
“It’s all about power and money now rather than public service. I think a majority of us are kind of tired of it and ready to return to politics of civility because we all know we are Americans here”
