Grand Rapids Police Department investigators hope someone has a tip that will lead them to the pickup truck driver who ran over a biker then turned around and drove past again without stopping.
On August 28 at 11:30 p.m., an adult riding an e-bike northbound on Walker Avenue NW was crossing Fremont Street when a pickup truck driver ran a stop sign and struck the victim, causing serious injuries.
The pickup went north on Walker then made a U-turn and drove back south past the scene of the crash but did not stop, turning south on Stocking and was last seen turning west on 5th Street.
The pickup is a dark blue, green or black four-door with tinted windows and no topper on the bed, likely an older Chevy Silverado or Ford Super Crew.
There may have been damage to the front-end but more likely to the undercarriage where it would not be easily visible.
GRPD is asking for the public’s help with information on the crash, the driver or any video from area cameras.
Tips can go directly to GRPD or anonymously through Silent Observer via phone, website or app.
