Three weeks after state and federal agents raided Muskegon Heights City Hall, Fire Chief Shawnderick Roberson faces three felonies: one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and two counts of tax evasion.
Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson says the local charges are in conjunction with a broader federal investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Roberson was also serving as interim city manager July 23rd when the FBI, IRS, DEA and state police raided city hall and other locations across the county in what agents called a “financial and drug crime” investigation.
City officials suspended Roberson with pay the next day.
Hilson noted these charges are only the beginning of the ongoing investigation.
