In Kent County, Cascade Township voters narrowly approved changes to the township’s zoning code. Officials there will reinstate codes, despite pushback from many residents who said the new regulations unfairly restricted property owners.
Voters in Grand Rapids approved the school district’s sinking fund proposal, allowing the district to pay for building maintenance, infrastructure and tech improvements over the next 10 years.
In Sparta, voters approved a millage allowing the fire department to purchase new equipment and improve its fire station.
Ada Township voters approved a millage increasing parks and recreation funding.
Voters in Plainfield Township said yes to a 10-year property tax renewal funding construction and maintenance of paved recreation trails.
And in Muskegon County, Fruitport Charter Township voters approved two public safety millage renewal requests, while voters in both Grant and Reeths-Puffer Public Schools approved operating millage renewals.
