ArtPrize 2026 runs September 12 through October 3, with four themed weekends of dance, music, visual art and fashion in addition to the art competition.
The Grand Rapids Ballet will curate dance performances at Rosa Parks Circle to kick off the events, with the Grand Rapids Opera taking center stage live the following weekend.
The Downtown Market will partner for an interactive children’s visual arts program, and the John Ball Zoo will host the halftime party with animal experiences.
The closing Awards Ceremony at Acrisure Amphitheater will feature a fashion show highlighting artistic expression.
Grand Rapids Third Ward is also partnering for a concurrent “SouthPrize” competition.
Event leaders say the goal of the expanded partnerships is to broaden ArtPrize beyond a visual arts competition, offering a shared stage to introduce residents and visitors to local organizations they can support year-round.
