Studio Days at MLK returns to help students pursue college goals

A returning summer initiative can help young people become equipped to attend college

The event is called “Studio Days at MLK”.“Our Community’s Children”, a public/private partnership between the City of Grand Rapids and Grand Rapids Public Schools is now located at the new MLK Community Center.It will host “Studio Days at MLK.”

This move is dedicated to helping and assisting young people along with their families with starting, continuing or finishing their college degree aspirations.

Services at Studio Days at MLK will include financial aid applications assistance, scholarship searches, essay review and even a meet and greet with college representatives and more.

OCC executive director Shannon L. Harris, says, "We believe that college is possible for our young people when strategic partnerships and aligned support are not only available, but also visible.”
