Following a lengthy investigation, Grand Rapids Police say a former Hope Academy of West Michigan teacher has been charged with ten counts of criminal sexual conduct

Grand Rapids Police say leadership at Hope Academy of West Michigan contacted them earlier this year to report allegations of criminal sexual conduct. An elementary school-aged student had described actions of a teacher to the principal.

A news release says Family Services Team Detectives along with support from the Children’s Advocacy Center of West Michigan conducted a lengthy investigation. This has now led to ten counts of second-degree CSC charges being brought against the teacher, George Marshall.Police say Marshall was arraigned earlier today.

When the report was made investigators had identified three victims, including the student who came forward. However, police say during the investigation, an additional four came forward with similar allegations and police now say there could be additional victims.

GRPD is asking anyone who believes their child may be a victim or may have more information on this case to reach out to detectives at 616-456-3380 or contact Silent Observer.
