The Grand Rapids Board of Education has selected four candidates to interview for the vacant board trustee position

Former Trustee Arick Davis resigned from the Board of Education on January 23rd. According to policy, the board has 30 days to appoint a new member.

Four candidates were selected from 20 applications. They are Robert Hovenkamp, Ismalis Nunez, Raynard Ross, and Erika VanDyke.

Interviews will take place during a Board of Education special meeting on Wednesday, February 18th at 6 p.m. at GRPS University on Fuller Avenue.

The meeting is open to the public, and the board is expected to vote for one of the four candidates.

That trustee will serve through December 31st, 2026, at which time an elected member will complete the remaining two years of the term.
