The Grand Rapids Board of Education wants to sit down and have coffee with the public as a new way to hear from the community

“Coffee with the Board” is a new initiative piloted by the Grand Rapids Board of Education to provide more opportunities for the public to have dialogue with its members.

The gatherings offer an open invitation to the public to meet with up to four board members at a time and have conversations outside the formal confines of regular board meetings.

Board President Kimberley Williams says, “We’ve heard our community tell us that they want to engage with us. They want to hear our thoughts and responses to their concerns where appropriate.”

The first Coffee with the Board is Monday, April 15 from 5:30 - 6:15pm at the Library Building just east of the Franklin Campus Administration Building where the board meetings are held.
