Striking a Win: MOTIV Bowling announces expansion and 90 new Jobs in West Michigan

With a boom in sales, the West Michigan bowling ball manufacturer is expanding with a new facility and more jobs in Muskegon County's Roosevelt Park

Bowling equipment maker MOTIV Bowling currently employs 43 workers across two facilities in Spring Lake and Roosevelt Park near Muskegon.

Now it’s expanding.

Company leaders cite 20% sales growth over the last several years and a dominant 2025 professional bowling season—in which their equipment was used by bowlers winning over half of all available titles.

The company is scaling operations to meet increasing global demand, planning to acquire and renovate a 96,000-square-foot facility in Roosevelt Park to manufacture bowling balls and serve as an export logistics hub.

The expansion includes nearly $9millio in capital investment and creates 90 new jobs with starting wages of $24 per hour plus benefits.

The investment received support from the Michigan Strategic Fund with a Michigan Business Development Program grant of $540,000.

The expansion will also require the purchase of locally sourced equipment and training by a Lansing-based company.

MOTIV’s current facility - two miles from the new production site - will be retained for research and development purposes.
