Muskegon-based Bauer Sheet Metal and Fabricating has been acquired by BSM Acquisition, LLC, of Cincinnati, Ohio. The deal closed in October but was announced this week by Calder Capital, the mergers and acquisitions adviser to Bauer.
Owners Mike and Pat Bauer, along with President Mark Hoofman, worked with Calder to facilitate their planned retirement while ensuring the continuity of the company under new ownership.
Founded in 1932, Bauer specializes in custom sheet metal fabrication and installation for malting equipment for beer brewers, structural repairs for watercraft, and thickness tests for piping, ship bulkheads and storage tanks.
Bauer employs nearly 60 people and operates facilities in Muskegon, Muskegon Heights, and Scottville, Michigan.
In a statement, Sam Scharich with Calder stated, “This is truly a win-win: a successful transition for long-time owners and a strong platform for continued growth.”
Bauer’s purchase price was not disclosed.
