The first musical acts to take the stage this spring at the new Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids will be local artists, and the call is out now to book them

Event technology platform Opnr and nonprofit economic development organization Grand Action 2.0 are partnering to launch a search for local acts to perform at the Acrisure Amphitheater’s public Grand Opening May 16.

“The process is going to create a call for local artists to create an inclusive and authentic way to showcase the incredibly diverse talent we have in West Michigan. We want the first sound that people hear in this new space to come from the people who live here.”

Grand Action 2.0 Executive Director Kara Wood says it’s an opportunity to show the community the many ways in which the amphitheater can be used.

“The artist lineup is going to be designed to highlight the amphitheater's flexibility, featuring a range of performance formats from full bands to acoustic sets to DJs and singer songwriters.”

Local artists can now submit their information for consideration at opnrmusic.com.
