According to fountain operators, audiences will see an even better show next summer

“You are going to love this new software.”

Designer Brad Boyink says new Grand Haven Musical Fountain software unlocks the color palette for show choreographers.

“We are literally going from a palette of 16 colors to 16 point seven million colors.”

And he says choreographers can now design more complex shows in half the time with the help of a new simulator.

“It is going to change everything for the fountain.”

“The fountain is in better shape than it has ever been.”

And this winter fountain committee chair Jerry Torke says they are improving the display with new, brighter lights.

“Each fixture is about two and a half times brighter than the units they will replace.”

Torke says this past summer was the best ever for the fountain. 107 shows.

“Only two of those 107 were identical every other show was a unique experience.”
And more people watched.

“Over 64 thousand fans, a marked increase over 54 thousand who saw the fountain shows last year.”

Councilman Mike Fritz says the fountain has come a long way from the early days when the show was just a couple of spotlights.

“What we have now is fantastic. It’s only going to get better.”
