ArtPrize attracts nearly 800,000 visitors to Grand Rapids each year for the two-week art competition, but many don’t realize much of what they see is for sale

If you’ve fallen in love with a work at ArtPrize and wished you could have it, sometimes you can.

“We encourage our artists that they can sell independently if they wish, which is 100% encouraged and accepted.”

ArtPrize Exhibitions Manager Kailey Smith-Barth says potential buyers can check the Artist Profile on the ArtPrize app or website to see if work is for sale.

Some artists have a QR code on their entry label linking to their sales page.

But it can get complicated to ship and insure large or oddly shaped art pieces so many use the event’s official sales partner, AllArtWorks, which ships around the world.

“AllArtWorks only charges a small percentage to the artist. The majority of it goes right back to the artist and then they help facilitate shipping and coordinating with any buyers after the sale.”

Vendors also sell art at the Merchants and Makers Market on Monroe Center Saturdays during the event.
