Only California and Texas have higher costs from tariffs

Trump levied a 10-percent tax on all foreign imports, with separate tariffs on steel, aluminum, and autos.

Financial analysts estimate that adds about 82-billion-dollars in costs to mid-sized companies that rely on international trade.

Now an analysis by the research firm Trade Partnership Worldwide finds from January to May of this year...Michigan had the third-highest price tag from tariffs in the nation – at three-and-a-third billion dollars.

The only states with a higher cost from tariffs are California with a more than 11-billion-dollar burden, and Texas at six billion.

Analysts warn the cost to mid-sized companies could double if Trump imposes the large tariffs he announced in April.

Trump officials say they are holding-off on adding those tariffs until next month.
