Free screening Wednesday of menopause documentary

PBS Documentary

Holland Hospital presents a free screening of a movie focusing on the physical and mental changes women experience during menopause, exposing what women don’t talk about

Hot flashes, brain fog, sleep disturbance, mood swings – all symptoms more than a million women in the U.S. entering menopause each year experience, significantly impacting their daily lives.

“It is a universal experience that every woman goes through yet often it's shrouded in silence and confusion and misinformation.”

Hannah Clark is a family nurse practitioner and a certified menopause provider with Holland Hospital Women’s Specialty Care which is hosting a free screening of the PBS documentary, “The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause.”

“We know that 80 % of women are going to experience some menopausal symptoms and we want to help break that silence.”

Following the film, a panel of expert physicians and specialists will answer questions providing insights into perimenopause and menopause.

“Many women who come to see me and our other providers often feel alone in what they're experiencing. They wish that their moms would've talked about this or that this would've been a discussion before they're actually going through it. “

The free screening event is open to the public Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the Knickerbocker Theater in downtown Holland.
