Federal regulators are looking into the 2.5 million vehicles whose owners can move remotely using a smartphone app

Tesla’s Actually Smart Summon feature lets owners move the vehicles to different locations by pushing a button on their phone.

But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports crashes connected to the app because it provided too small of a view for users to see posts or parked cars and not much time to let off the button.

It’s the latest in a series of federal actions regarding Tesla.

In October safety regulators began examining whether a partially-Self driving software in Teslas works as intended.

About a year ago the government ordered Tesla to recall more than two million vehicles to add safety features to its Autopilot system which some drivers used and then ignored road conditions.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is an ally of President-elect Trump...and a frequent critic of the federal safety agency.
