On Saturday evening, officers with the Muskegon Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 900 block of Kampenga Avenue.
Upon arrival, they located a 17-year-old Muskegon man who had been shot inside a vehicle.
Officers conducted life-saving measures at the scene and the victim was transported to Trinity Hospital in Muskegon, where he remains in critical condition.
Detectives with the Muskegon PD are currently investigating the incident and say they do not believe the act to be random.
