At a coffee shop in Grand Rapids, three Democrats and one Republican held a press conference to call on Michiganders to elect Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump.
The group was led by retiring Democrat U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow.
“She’s showing this election is more than a choice between two candidates or two parties. It’s a choice between a president who will fight for you or a president who gets up every day thinking of himself.”
Former U.S. Congressman and Republican Fred Upton has broken with his party to endorse Harris, encouraging other Republicans to vote for her.
“This is about more than just about policy. It’s about decency. It’s about integrity. It’s about honesty and true patriotism. That’s what the Republican party once stood for and the only way we’re going to get back to that is to reject the politics of Donald Trump.””
U.S. Representative Hillary Scholten and State Senator and Majority Leader Winnie Brinks, both Democrats, also made remarks.
