Leaders from Holland Hospital and Shoreline Orthopaedics held a grand opening for their Orthopedic Center & Surgery Center at Westpark Wednesday.
Research shows such centers are expected to perform 68% of orthopedic surgeries by the mid-2020s, with treatment costs up to 40% lower than in a hospital setting.
The new center includes operating and procedure rooms, recovery stations, an outpatient surgery center with advanced robotics, an orthopedic clinic, physical therapy and rehabilitation services.
Bruce Stewart, MD, of Shoreline Orthopaedics says it’s a true collaboration with Holland Hospital.
“We’re well-positioned to take care of the lakeshore community and now with this building here just off the highway at Chicago Drive with a hotel right next door we’re open for business across the state and region for people who have heard about the care we’re providing here and want to have easy access to this location. “
Leaders say employers will benefit from the facility with enhanced employee well-being, reduced health care and disability costs, and minimized productivity losses, creating a healthier, more productive workforce.
