Just two days after the first presidential debate between Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump, Governor Walz will stop by Grand Rapids on Thursday afternoon for a campaign event.
The campaign’s New Way Forward tour of battleground states like Michigan aims to mobilize support, drive enthusiasm and reach undecided voters.
Walz is expected to arrive at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Thursday at 5:30 p.m. for a campaign event that starts at 7 p.m. No word yet on where that event will take place.
Friday morning, Walz will leave Grand Rapids for a noon event in Lansing, before heading to Wisconsin.
This will be Walz’s first visit to Grand Rapids since he was announced as Harris’ running mate in early August. Walz last visited Michigan shortly after that announcement, campaigning in Detroit.
