AAA is once again instituting its “Tow to Go” program in Michigan, with the goal of keeping impaired drivers off the roads.

It’s a free service regardless of whether the caller is a AAA member… but officials say it should be the back up plan, not your first line of defense against impaired driving. When needed, a tow truck will be dispatched to transport the vehicle and its owner to a safe location within a ten-mile radius. Here’s AAA spokesperson, Adrienne Woodland.

“It’s our effort to keep impaired drivers off the roadway. AAA the Auto Club group has provided this for over 25 years and in that time period we’ve removed over 30-thousand drivers from U.S. roadways.”

Woodland says Tow to Go will be in effect starting tonight at 6 pm and will run until 6 am Tuesday, September 3rd. Michigan residents can call 855-Tow-To-Go.
