Ottawa Co. Road commission releases 5-year Strategic Improvement Plan

Ottawa County Road Commission

The draft plan includes proposed reconstruction and resurfacing work on primary local roads, as well as preventative maintenance treatment, and drainage and bridge improvements.

Last week, Ottawa County voters renewed their 10-year millage for road improvements. The Countywide Road Millage is a .4578-mill renewal from 2025 through 2034.

One hundred percent of road millage revenue generated within each Ottawa County village, township, or city will be directly invested back into that municipality, ensuring the benefits are felt directly by those communities.

Components of the project selection process include traffic volumes, safety concerns and public involvement.

To that end, the Ottawa County Road Commission has released its 5-year Strategic Plan.

The plan is updated annually and is based on a yearly review of county road assets.

This draft plan includes proposed reconstruction and resurfacing work on primary local roads, as well as preventative maintenance treatment, and drainage and bridge improvements.

The OCRC invites public input on the draft plan from now until September 16th, which can be found online at www.ottawacorc.com
