New Saugatuck City Manager says goodbye to Grand Haven city council

Ryan Cummins is resigning from Grand Haven city council to focus on his new job as the Saugatuck city manager but is not moving out of Grand Haven

“For his invaluable service to our city thank you applause.”

At Ryan Cummins final Grand Haven city council meeting, there was a proclamation read by mayor Bob Monetza.

“We acknowledge the outstanding contributions made by mayor pro tem Ryan Cummins.”

Praise from the public: Marsha McGee.

“Ryan we appreciate everything you have done.”

Jared Kramer:

“His service to the city has been so outstanding.”

Tributes from colleagues on council, including Michael Fritz.

“Sometimes we disagree but I tell you what i will miss you a lot.”

And some final words from Cummins who has been on council for almost 5 years.

“It’s a privilege to serve a lot of big decisions are made in this room Grand Haven took a chance on me.”

Cummins says he is resigning from city council to focus on his new job as the Saugatuck city manager. But he is not moving out of Grand Haven.

“I still will be residing in Grand Haven making the commute to Saugatuck, so this is still my home the city I love.”

The city has 30 days to fill the opening on council. The deadline for applications is Friday.

“And I trust it is in good hands going forward.”
