The stipend is to help increase access to behavioral health services for Michigan residents

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services or MDHHS says students enrolled in accredited behavioral health bachelor's, master’s or doctorate programs are being offered the stipend.

A news release says The Behavioral Health Internship Stipend Program can provide up to $15,000 per student intern. It will cover costs like tuition and living expenses, allowing them to concentrate on professional growth and practical experience.

MDHHS has allocated $3.5 million for the program, which could fund between 230 and 700 interns and Director Elizabeth Hertel, says quote, ““Michigan families should be able to access behavioral health resources when and where they need them,” adding, “This initiative represents a significant investment in Michigan's behavioral health workforce and reflects our broader strategy to address the growing demand for behavioral health professionals.”

Applicants have to complete an online form by Aug. 26th.
