After a tip in June, an investigation uncovered evidence that the man had been offering teenage girls alcohol and vape pens in exchange for sex and nude pictures

The 42-year-old Caledonia man is accused of giving alcohol to a 17-year-old girl in exchange for sex, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives working for the office’s Human Trafficking Task Force received a tip about the incident in late June. Further investigation uncovered evidence that the man had been offering teenage girls alcohol and vape pens in exchange for sex and nude pictures.

It’s believed the suspect communicated with several girls from surrounding areas including Lowell, Forest Hills, Caledonia, and Byron Center, and that he video-recorded the sexual acts that took place in his home.

Wednesday, detectives conducted a search warrant at the suspect’s home and he was taken into custody, arrested on five felony charges. He is currently lodged at the Kent County Jail.

Kent County detectives continue to investigate as the case may expand. If you have any information regarding this case, you’re asked to call the Kent County Sheriff’s Office or Silent Observer.
