Rockford residents will see an increased police presence in the community as the Kent County Sheriff’s Office continues their search for a missing girl.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office sent deputies to the Rockford area over the weekend conducting searches for anything related to the whereabouts of Penelope Wise.

Police say 17-year-old Penelope Wise, also known as Penny, voluntarily left her Cedar Springs home on foot at 6 p.m. on May 31st. It is believed she traveled from Cedar Springs to Rockford, as surveillance video from Rockford Park Drive near Northland Drive shows Penny walking along the road.

Police are now trying to figure out where Penelope has gone since being spotted walking by herself near the Corner Bar in Rockford around midnight on June 1st, but authorities do not believe that any foul play has occurred at this time.

Penelope is 5 feet tall, weighs approximately 120 pounds and has blonde hair and braces. She was last seen wearing a pink tank top and shorts.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Penelope Wise, you can contact the Kent County Sheriff’s Office online or at (616) 632-6125.
