The new route from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids is to West Palm Beach, Florida on Sundays and Thursdays

Allegiant Travel announced eight new nonstop routes to 13 cities across the United States this week, including two from Michigan.

The routes launch in November but are open to booking now.

The new route from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids is to West Palm Beach, Florida on Sundays and Thursdays.

Allegiant’s Vice President of Planning Kristen Schilling-Gonzales says the additional routes are a testament to the success of existing services and notes the continued growth of the west Michigan region and its airport.

“We started there in 2009 with just one route. Now we’re up to 16 nonstop flights from Grand Rapids. We’d love to keep growing that. We’ve got a aircraft and crew based out of Grand Rapids. That means we’ve got Allegiant employees that are pilots, flight attendants, and our maintenance folks that live in the community and their being a part of that community is important to us at Allegiant.”

Another new Allegiant flight goes from Flint, Michigan to Destin, Florida.
