“I did absolutely nothing wrong”
62 year old first term Republican State Representative Neil Friske spoke at a candidates forum hosted by the Petoskey and Charlevoix Chamber of Commerce.
“I’m thrilled to be here tonight I mean that literally I’m thrilled to be anywhere that is not a jail cell.”
Police arrested Friske about 3am Thursday near his Lansing condo after investigating reports of a man with a gun, possible shots fired and a possible sexual assault. He stayed in jail until Friday.
“I was arrested and held due to some false accusations.”
Parker Fairbairn is running against Friske in the August primary. The winner will be the November Republican candidate in Michigan’s 107th House District
“We don’t need more drama in this seat if you want more of the same drama, we are getting national headlines now on send the same guy back to Lansing.”
“I am certain when the police are done conducting their investigation I will be completely exonerated.”
It is up to the Ingham County prosecutor to decide what, if any, charges Friske will face.
