A “boil water advisory” is going out this afternoon, warning residents in a Grand Rapids neighborhood not to drink tap water without boiling it first.
The affected area includes Adams Street, Cambridge Avenue, Edward Avenue, Boston Street, Sylvan Avenue and Philadelphia Avenue.
There was a water main break in the area overnight, and field crews have been on-site working to repair it.
Approximately 200 homes are affected, their water turned off.
Once water is restored, residents are urged to boil their water as a precaution.
Residents will be notified when the advisory is lifted which may take 3-4 days.
