The lawsuit will be filed on behalf of Brenda Tracy. She is a rape survivor and assault prevention activist who worked with Mel Tucker as a consultant.
Tracy filed a Title Nine complaint at MSU in December 2022, accusing Tucker of sexual harassment. The investigation found Tucker had violated university policy. He was fired by the university last Fall.
The attorney alleges Tracy suffered psychological distress, and damage to her reputation and to her future earning capabilities.
Tracy is seeking 50 million dollars in damages for herself and 25 million dollars for her nonprofit.
